About Jim

Thanks for stopping by my page. I write “Fresh from the market” for people who want to know more about what they are eating and how to enjoy it in different ways. Whether it’s a quick meal or something a little more gourmet, you will find what you are looking for here. All things food is what this is about.

I have worked in some of the best restaurants I could find in the area and work as a personal chef. I currently work at Guido’s Fresh Marketplace as the In-House Chef. What better place to further my craft with the best quality products at my finger tips? Want to know what to do with a certain product you have seen at your local market? Let me know, and we will have fun figuring it out.

  1. Loved your article on Roasted Chestnuts. As you know I have loved Roasted Chestnuts for years. I just couldn’t help myself when I read what your ending sentence was. You know that bagged chestnuts are not nearly as good as the fresh ones. The pain that you go through is well worth the fresh taste of that chestnut. Your article was great up till that point. I must teach you how to shuck like your pro that I have become.
